User guide

Welcome to ZenPense

ZenPense is a calm, all-in-one personal finance companion for iPhone. It brings spending, accounts, budgets, subscriptions, savings goals, net worth, and a private AI assistant into one quiet interface.

One thing worth knowing before everything else: ZenPense works fully offline. An account and the cloud are optional extras — never a requirement.

📦 Requires: iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Some widgets and Control Center features need iOS 18+.

Getting started

1 · Install and open

ZenPense is currently preparing for private beta. Request a TestFlight invite, then install the build from Apple's TestFlight app when your invitation arrives.

2 · Set your base currency

Pick the currency you think in. Foreign spending is converted automatically with regularly refreshed exchange rates.

3 · Add your first transaction

Tap ＋, enter an amount and category — done in about three seconds. Or say "Hey Siri, add expense" and never open the app at all.

4 · Optional: set a budget

Create a weekly or monthly budget per category. ZenPense tracks spend against it automatically and shows your pulse on the Home tab.

💡 Tip: add the Lock Screen widget so today's spending is always one glance away.

Bringing data in & out

Import

Bank statements	Import CSV and text-based PDF statements — every transaction is shown for review before anything is saved
Email receipts	Forward receipts to your personal ZenPense email alias and they appear as transactions automatically
Share sheet	Share text from any app (a payment SMS, a receipt note) straight into a new transaction
Siri & Shortcuts	"Add Expense" and "Add Income" voice commands and Control Center buttons

Export

Your data is yours. Export everything as JSON or CSV any time via the iOS share sheet — Settings → Data → Export. No lock-in, ever.

Sync & your account

ZenPense works fully offline. If you sign in, your finances sync securely across reinstalls and new devices — automatically, in the background.

Guest mode — fully on-device, nothing leaves your phone.
Signed in — encrypted sync, plus the email-to-transaction alias and login alerts.
Leaving — delete all local data, or permanently delete your account and everything in it, in one tap.

Premium

At public launch, Premium will be an optional monthly or yearly subscription billed through the App Store. It unlocks unlimited accounts, unlimited history, advanced AI insights, smart alerts, and the full subscription dashboard.

Cancel anytime from your App Store subscriptions — nothing is deleted if you do, and everything reappears if you return. Details on the pricing page.

Privacy & security

On-device first — your phone holds your data; sync is opt-in.
App lock — Face ID / Touch ID, with a privacy shield that hides balances when you switch apps.
Account protection — login alerts and two-factor authentication.
AI privacy — account and card numbers never leave your phone, and AI features run only with your explicit consent.
No ads, no data sales — ZenPense's only revenue is Premium. You are the customer, not the product.
